Glazar Derm:
the best friend of your pet’s skin and hair
Just as in humans, skin is the largest organ of the organism of dogs and cats.
But that’s not all: the skin is also an essential protective barrier against the damaging action of external harmful agents.
In addition, the skin and hair of dogs and cats can be an ‘alarm bell’ signalling possible systemic disorders, such as hormonal disorders or nutritional imbalances.
Taking good care of your pet’s skin, hair and skin appendages goes beyond aesthetics: it is essential to ensure their general health.
To this end, a correct and balanced diet and good cleanliness and hygiene are very important. It may also be useful to supplement your pet – periodically or as needed – with a complementary feed specific to the health of dogs and cats’ skin and coat.
WHAT IS GLAZAR DERM?
Glazar Derm is a complementary feed for dogs and cats indicated for the well-being of skin and coat.
WHAT DOES GLAZAR DERM CONTAIN?
Glazar Derm contains vitamins, zinc and sulphur amino acids that are necessary for the integumentary system.
In particular, biotin (or vitamin H) and zinc are two essential elements for the health and integrity of the hair and skin of dogs and cats.
In addition, Glazar Derm provides all the essential fatty acids for dogs and cats (linoleic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, gamma-linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid and octadecatetraenoic acid) in a biologically active and ready-to-use form.
Essential fatty acids, particularly of the ω6 series (especially linoleic acid), are very important for the integrity and functionality of the ‘skin barrier’.
The skin is an anatomical-functional barrier between the external environment and the body, protecting the latter from the damaging action of chemical, physical and biological agents.
Much of the effectiveness of the skin barrier function depends on the morphological and functional integrity of the layer that interfaces with the environment: the stratum corneum.
The stratum corneum consists of keratinised dead cells, connected to each other through a complex system of intercellular lipid lamellae. The main components of these intercellular lipid lamellae are specific sphingolipids (ceramides), which are mainly made of polyunsaturated fatty acids (especially linoleic acid).
This explains why an adequate intake of essential fatty acids, especially ω6, is essential for the proper function of the skin barrier.
WHEN SHOULD I USE GLAZAR DERM?
Glazar Derm is indicated for the well-being of dogs and cats’ skin and coat.
Glazar Derm is particularly useful in the following cases:
- seasonal shedding of dogs and cats: to facilitate faster and complete hair change
- dogs and cats participating in beauty shows who must always have a thick, shiny coat and an intact, healthy coat
- pregnancy: to ensure the correct supply of ω3 and ω6 essential fatty acids needed for the development and growth of the foetus
- lactation: to limit the risk of deficiencies in the mother due to overproduction of milk
- support to pharmacological treatments for dermatological conditions: dogs and cats with alopecia, stress-induced hair loss, zinc deficiency dermatosis, dermatitis, dandruff and seborrhoea
- maintaining the health and integrity of the skin and skin appendages of dogs and cats.
HOW SHOULD I USE GLAZAR DERM?
For best results, Glazar Derm should be administered daily until the skin and hair are normalised (one to two months).
Then, one or two weekly doses are sufficient as maintenance.
At first, it is normal to notice abundant hair turnover.
Before use, always ask for advice to your veterinarian.
